Security forces resort to firearms to disperse protesters
According to reports by HRANA, the atmosphere reigning over the protest is quite tense and flammable. Plainclothes forces are using paint ball guns to disperse the crowd between Vali-Asr and Enghelab squares (#4 and #9 on the MAP link).
The forces attacked people despite the fact that the rally was peaceful, and people were only chanting “Death to dictator” and “Allah Akbar”(God is great).
In other reports, security forces have fired shots into the air in Ferdowsi square.
The presence of people in the roads leading to Enghelab Square is to the extent that the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lines are unable to move.
Reports indicate that people are currently marching toward Azadi square (#1).
