RAHANA — Two protesters who participated in the February 14h rallies to support Egypt and Tunisia were shot and killed by government security forces. According to the Human Rights House of Iran (RAHANA), the political and military authorities try, as they did last year, to blame these killings on “Hypocrites”*, thereby justifying their own violent actions.
Kazem Jalali, the spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iranian Parliament, called the protestors “seditionists” and said: “Interior Ministry has announced the martyrdom of two people in this event [protests] where some of the popular and revolutionary forces were wounded as a result of gunshots, and two of them were martyred. The investigations clearly shows that the shooting was carried out by mercenary elements, and they were looking to implement threadbare project of staging killings [by the pro-regime forces]”.
These remarks were expressed meanwhile according RAHANA, while the reporters of RAHANA reported on shooting by government plain cloth officers on the protesters which resulted in two people being wounded. These plain cloth agents used their Colt handguns to target citizens.
Saneh Jaleh was Kurdish-Iranian born in 1984 in the city of Paveh. He was a Sunni Muslim, and was studying theater in the Fine Arts University of Tehran. He was shot at point blank, and was transferred o the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
State media announced the name of this protestors, but reported that he was killed by Monafeghin. In order to cause further confusion and division, the Student Basidj Public Relation Officer in an interview with Fars News Agency stated: “The funeral procession of martyr Sane Jaleh, the Fine Arts University of Tehran`s student who was shot directly by the members of the terrorist group Monafeghin will begin in front of Fine Arts University of Tehran tomorrow [Wednesday, February 16th] toward the University of Tehran”.
Last year, during the peaceful and civil protests of the citizens, dozens of protestors were injured or killed by the police, basij militia and Islamic Revolutionary forces. Although many pictures and films from the eyewitnesses are available on these killings, the Islamic Republic authorities have denied these deaths or attributed them to foreign agents.
It is noteworthy that Islamic Republic news agencies have reported at least 4 other injuries and their treatment at the hospital.
*”hypocrites” is the term used by Islamic regime to describe People Mujahedeen Organiztion’s supporters.
2nd Protester identified and reported in English and Persian by RAHANA:
Mohammad Mokhtari who was wounded during yesterday’s event has reportedly passed away at the hospital. Government officials believe the shooting had taken place by “self serving elements”. General Ahmad Radan, the deputy chief of police has also spoke of “shooting by hypocrites” and added, “unfortunately during this event which took place at Navab and Tohid intersection one individual was killed and eight were wounded.” Mohammad Mokhtari, son of Ismael, is a 22 year old citizen who was killed with a single bullet.
